Hammond Park Secondary College (SC) is seeking to appoint a dedicated Human Resource Officer to join their friendly team.The role of the Human Resource Officer is to provide a comprehensive Human Resource consultancy service to all college staff. This includes support and advice on Human Resource legislation, policies, and procedures.A priority of this role is to coordinate teacher relief and leave management on a daily basis, ensuring classes are covered so an understanding of staff timetabling processes is important. The ability to work flexible hours to meet the demand of teacher relief is advantageous. You will also collaborate with executive staff on recruitment activities such as deployment, selection, and appointment process for teaching and non-teaching staff. You will also collaborate with the executive team on the development and implementation of strategic Human Resources solutions to workforce planning, attraction and retention, succession planning budget/establishment management. The ideal applicant should possess the ability to contribute to continuous improvement and innovation to maximise opportunities.The successful applicant will ideally have highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills, including the ability to undertake effective negotiations and build positive relationships with staff at all levels. You should have highly developed organisational skills and be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.Hammond Park SC opened in 2020 with 175 foundation Year 7 students and will add an additional year group each year until we are a 7-12 campus in 2025.The college provides local students with a dynamic and innovative learning environment centred around the social and emotional wellbeing of each child. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Ability to provide effective support and input into the development, implementation and monitoring of Human Resource management systems and processes.
- Sound written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with staff and work within a team environment.
- Sound knowledge and skills in Human Resource management, including research, planning and recruitment practices.
- Conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to implement appropriate strategies
- A four (4) page statement addressing the Work Related Requirements (selection criteria), in context of the role and business needs of the school
- A CV of up to two (2) pages outlining your employment history and professional learning summary relevant to this position
- The contact details for two (2) work related referees who can attest to the claims made in your written application, preferably one being your current line manager.
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment;

- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;

- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
