About The Opportunity This HR generalist position plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive Human Resources Business Partnering services to the Council, covering a broad spectrum of responsibilities from recruitment and onboarding to performance management. It focuses on providing advice and coaching to both leaders and employees, grounded in a deep understanding of HR policies, procedures, and legislation. Key duties include addressing complex HR issues, ensuring legal compliance, managing HR projects, fostering effective stakeholder relationships, and offering knowledgeable advice. This role demands professional judgement, initiative, and a collaborative approach, all aimed at boosting the organisation's performance and supporting the workforce in line with the Council's strategic goals. About You Degree in HR or related field, or equivalent experience/specialised skills. HR generalist knowledge, including employment law and policy advice. Team player with a positive contribution to workplace improvement. Experience in policy and procedure development aligned with employment legislation. Excellent customer service, communication skills, and confidentiality management. Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR software. Ability to manage emotions and work under pressure in sensitive environments. Experience handling discipline, complaints, and industrial matters. Skilled in setting priorities and managing HR workflows. Maintains a positive, proactive attitude. Must have a valid “C” Class driver's license. Desired: HR experience in a local government environment including knowledge of Council programs, policies, and activities.
