About the roleNovartis Pharmaceuticals is seeking a driven and experienced Associate Commercial Director to join our In Market Brands (IMB) team. The IMB portfolio consists of over 60+ molecules and 7+ therapeutic areas, accounting for nearly half of Novartis' total sales.As the Commercial Associate Director for In Market Brands, your primary responsibility will be to lead, manage, and develop the overall performance of the IMB product portfolio to drive growth across the enterprise and especially In-Market Brands.As an inspiring leader, you will build and nurture a high-performing sales and marketing team, as well as cultivating sustainable and enduring business relationships with key customers and stakeholders. Additionally, you will be responsible for delivering sales and profits within agreed budgets and driving the implementation of innovative commercial models.Key Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for achieving In Market Brand (IMB) performance targets in terms of sales, market share, and profitability
  • Develop and execute localised tactical plans and measures based on the global strategy, content, and solutions
  • Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams to effectively execute prioritised tactics
  • Show an appetite for experimentation and smart risk-taking in new channels, new segments, omni-channel promotion and new partnerships
  • Drive growth within the IMB portfolio by establishing growth plans for existing products, managing their life cycle from prelaunch to launch, growth, through to pre/post loss of exclusivity (LOE). Full portfolio.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of upcoming key launches, ensuring seamless cross-functional collaboration
  • Support the implementation of new commercial models in close collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Partner with other TA heads or countries to develop agile, customer-led digital and customer solutions
  • Support strategic portfolio development activities, including commercial assessments, new product development, forecasting, and product lifecycle management
  • Build and strengthen strategic relationships with customers in alignment with compliance guidelines
  • Maximize sales force performance and ROI, enhancing sales force capabilities and developing innovative commercial strategies
  • Lead and develop the IMB commercial team, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting innovation
  • Foster a team approach focused on patients, payers, and customers as top priorities
Role RequirementsWhat you'll bring:
  • A university degree in a relevant field such as science, business, or policy is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in working with high-performing regional and local marketing, medical, and/or access teams in the healthcare or life sciences industry is required.
  • A track record of highly successful delivery and positive performance results is essential.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and experience in engaging with and introducing innovation into the healthcare system.
  • Proficiency in making data-driven decisions, analysing financial and industry data related to sales, market share, price/volume, call activity, and market research. Ability to present data and articulate market trends, performance, and strategies to achieve goals to various internal and external audiences.
  • Maintains the highest degree of integrity, representing the company's ethics, moral behavior, and professionalism.
