Edith Cowan University invites applications for the position of Information Management Officer. This role is crucial for managing and preserving the integrity of our inactive records in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our team and contribute to the effective management of university records.
Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for a records management specialist to join our team at the university. In this role, you will be responsible for the appraising of inactive university records and their capture to the University record keeping system. Your main tasks will include:
- Inputting inactive records into our system following specific guidelines.
- Evaluating records according to the State Records Office of WA and the WA University Record Disposal Authority rules.
- Working closely with our Archives Coordinator, communicate with internal teams about transferring records for processing.
- Helping to coordinate the transfer of records to and from our university and storage locations.
- Ordering bins for confidential record disposal and overseeing the destruction of records approved for disposal.
- Conducting checks on the record-keeping system to ensure all data is correct.
- Packaging and storing records according to our organizational procedures.
- Generating regular reports about record appraisal activities.
- Ordering and managing supplies and stationery for handling inactive records.
- Taking part in planning activities, following university policies, and making sure all activities comply with Work Health and Safety (WHS) and Equal Opportunity (EO) standards.

Requirements:
- Proven experience or strong interest in records management or a related field.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under supervision and as part of a team.

Benefits & Remuneration
This part time, fixed term position attracts remuneration of $71,918 to $76,598 pa (HEW 4) pro rata 40%, plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
