About the role:

An opportunity for one (1) x Injury Management Team Leader to join the Western Region Hub, located in Geelong.

The Health and Wellbeing Hubs is the single most significant investment in the health, safety and wellbeing of Victoria Police employees to prevent and respond to work related injuries. Six multi-disciplinary teams, based in hubs across the state are being established, enhancing employee's mental health, injury prevention, early intervention, and recovery support. This newly created position offers an exciting opportunity to support Victoria Police employees.

Reporting to the Hub Manager, the Injury Management Team Leader is a key leadership position in the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Hubs providing day to day management and support to a team of Injury Management and rehabilitation consultants. The position will supervise and support a regional team of Injury Management and rehabilitation consultants in providing early and ongoing management to support ill and injured employees, whilst ensuring compliance with legislative requirements are met.

Your duties will include:

  • Lead a team of Injury Management and rehabilitation consultants delivering a professional and effective Injury Management and return to work service.
  • Provide day to day support, advice and supervision to staff for all Injury Management and operational needs, including professional development and continuous improvement planning.
  • Conduct regular case reviews to drive creative return to work and remain at work initiatives and to monitor and manage compliance with relevant legislation and organisational policies and procedures.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on complex cases to ensure services are in line with best practice rehabilitation and early return to work.
  • Participate as part of the leadership team on program evaluation, reporting and meeting performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure quality service delivery and customer satisfaction.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Proven high level management experience in the delivery of an Injury Management service within a large complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in the leadership, development and coaching of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Victorian workers' compensation scheme and experience in meeting employer obligations in accordance with the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013.
  • Highly developed communication skills and ability to negotiate complex and sensitive issues, with the ability to influence managers and stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.

  • This position is located at Geelong Police Headquarters, 1 Malop Street, Geelong.
