What does the job look like?
The Inventory Manager is a leadership role, ultimately responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and facilitating appropriate capacity planning for this high-volume dynamic DC. An integral role that provides inventory and system integrity and enables efficient resource allocation and throughput to provide confidence to our highly valued customer.
Reporting to the Distribution Centre Manager, you will lead a team responsible for the accuracy of the WMS inventory records with respect to product quantities, locations, stock age, bond, remissions, breakages and production receipts to allow the efficient and cost-effective receipt, storage, picking and despatch of goods. Key areas:
- Provision of a robust inventory management program ensuring stock take and cycle counts are an accurate foundation for operational planning
- Proactive customer relationship management, including reporting, provision of technical expertise as required to provide superior service offerings
- Development and management of Inventory and Systems team members
- Generate daily reconciliations; investigate and address variances and rectify any factors affecting the accuracy
- Develop and implement policies, training and procedures to promote continuous improvement
This is a pivotal role requiring a warehousing specialist that thrives in a fast-paced environment. Working closely with the customer, you will provide inventory and systems expertise to provide operational efficiency. You can demonstrate:
- Demonstrable experience managing large, SKU heavy Inventory
- Strong computer literacy skills, with expertise in various WMS and ERP systems
- Ability to confidently lead and develop a high-performance team
- Process driven, analytical and methodical with ability to influence various stakeholders
