Job description

This role forms part of the IT team, taking care of the day-to-day IT needs of the organization. This includes IT support for Retail and Office staff and looking after their hardware and software requirements.

What Could a Day Include?

  • Primary IT Support for Retail Store Network (Level 1 / Level 2)
  • Primary IT Support for Office Staff (Level 1 / Level 2)
  • Escalate issues to Service Desk Manager, other IT Team Members, Support Office staff and suppliers/vendors as required.
  • Work with Manager and IT Team (Rostering) to ensure business support continuity.
  • Cross functional Support: working with Finance and Retail Team on Store IT Operations.
  • Any other activities as required and communicated by IT team leadership.

You will also get to work on a range of exciting project, including but not limited to:

  • Infrastructure projects and IT projects
  • Cross functional Support on IT related projects or projects involving IT.
  • Development, System Analysis, Testing and Documentation as required

Key Requirements:

  • Exceptional communication written and verbal skills
  • Good working or practical knowledge of computer hardware and software, networking systems and internet protocols, with the ability to troubleshoot connectivity and operational issues.
  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Exposure to (or experience with) Retail Systems including POS and EFTPOS systems.
  • Management of calls/tickets from Store Network with an emphasis on priority issues during trading hours, and a focus on returning stores to trading.
  • Ability to create and document procedures around POS IT systems.
  • Proven experience delivering high quality work. (Practical or academic)
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Desire to learn and grow as part of the M.J. Bale business.

Desirable Requirements: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT.
  • Experience in a similar role an advantage.
  • Applying proactive and forward thinking, ideally in management of store IT systems, to increase productivity and ensure highest possible uptime for trade.
  • Experience working on cross functional implementation project teams.
  • Exposure to/experience with IT infrastructure including servers and backup systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Office 365) applications and their administration
  • Experience with AP21 ERP systems
