Address- Fixed term – Full time 12mths
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join the team at the Glencore Coal Hunter Valley (GHV) Office in a fixed term role for twelve (12) months. Reporting to the IT Team Leader at GHV, you will be responsible for providing a high level of technical support and expert advice across a range of standard software products and installed infrastructure.
You will support the Glencore Coal Assets Australia Head office, Bulga Coal Open Cut and United Wambo Joint Venture Open Cut Sites.
You will apply your technical expertise and a strong methodical approach to resolve system issues and achieve maximum uptime. You will work with the IT Team Leader to manage third party service providers, vendors and business users to deliver effective and efficient IT services, and at times may act as the technical lead for site based IT projects. You will actively support the IT Team Leader who has carriage over an onsite IT budget and allocation of IT resources.
Your industry qualifications (MTA/MCSA/MCSE/CCNA) are desirable but not essential, and/or considerable experience in a similar role, coupled with your ability to multi-task and problem solve ensure you are a good fit for this role. You will have a sound knowledge of Microsoft client and server technologies, Active Directory Administration, TCP/IP, routing protocols and general networking fundamentals. Knowledge of PABX systems, PC hardware, fibre optic and copper cabling and wireless/mesh radio technologies is also desirable.
This role is based onsite where work will be performed on a Monday – Friday roster, with on call and after hours commitments as required.
