About the role:
The role of a Junior Buyer at Kathmandu assists all Buyers in the administartion associated with managing a portfolio of product categories, third party brand process with the sole purpose to increaase sales and profit margin in each category. The role is full time in the South Melbourne office and will report into the Head of Buying. Day to day you'll:
- Support the buying process
- Managing product lifecycles, from planning ranges, delivery of product and managing sell through of product
- Analysing sales trends daily in allocated product categories
- Reviewing competitor product and price offerings
- Constantly souring new product/ product ideas to ensure the business remains competitive
- Category management for your portfolio, assortment selections to end to end retail trade.
- Input style code and distribution templates in a timely and accurate manner
- Review and reconcile order confirmations once received by suppliers
- Analyse and report on product performance
- Follow up outstanding orders and raise any issues with the Buyer
- Ensure regular communication with Stores, Sales and Visual Merchandising teams to obtain product feedback to maximise sales
- Raising orders, supporting the buyer with admin associated with third party range
- Frequent catch ups & communications with brand partners
- An enthusiastic person who enjoys the outdoors.
- Have a genuine passion for products and the growth of our business
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- The ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels (both written and verbal)
- someone who is pro-active with previous hands on retail experience.
