Our client is looking for a Technical Assistant to work at a Pathology Laboratory with Transfusion Laboratory experience.
About the opportunity
Our client is currently seeking Technical Assistants based in Gosford. The successful applicants will be required to handle administrative responsibilities and participate in a rotating shift roster.
What you'll be doing
Perform a range of laboratory support and/or specimen reception services, and provide assistance to laboratory staff, under supervision, to deliver a patient focused service.

- A working knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn, all aspects of the laboratory environment relevant to the Department
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high quality work output while managing competing priorities
- Demonstrated customer service experience and skills, preferably in a laboratory environment, including the ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and clinical staff
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills combined with the ability to investigate and resolve general issues within the laboratory environment
- Excellent data entry skills including high attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Awareness of legislation, policies and requirements relevant to a laboratory setting

- Two References – One from a line manager who has worked with the candidate within the last 3 months, one from a referee who has worked with the candidate within the last 12 months – must be nurse grade level higher than candidate
- Australian National Police Check – must be current, valid for 3 years – must have aged care check for MPHS or aged care facilities
- Immunisation – COVID-19x2 (or if MPHS/Aged Care x3),Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hep B (no converter will not be considered), Pertussis (must be from within the last 10 years) ADT will not be accepted nor will pertussis serology.
- Photo Identification – current passport or driver’s licence with clear legible photo and writing – if it has expired, this is not acceptable
