About the role
We have an opportunity for a lawyer with 1-3 years PAE who is genuinely interested in growing their career in property law.
Working closely with partner Darren Anderson, you will join a motivated and supportive commercial property team assisting in large scale commercial property transactions (acquisitions and disposals), including rural property. You will undertake leasing tasks (leases, options, assignments, variations, change of control) including drafting of appropriate amendments to leases and associated documents.

About you
You will have a general understanding of:
- Leasing – Retail, Industrial and Commercial.
- Transactional – Acquisitions, Disposals and Due Diligence in relation to all asset classes (industrial, commercial and rural).
- General Property – Easements, Licences, PEXA, Stamp Duty, Titles Office, Liquor Licensing and Strata Development.
Leasing
- Familiarity with the Retail Shop Leases Act and processes under that Act.
- Acting for both Landlord and Tenant.
- Drafting of appropriate amendments negotiated in relation to Leases.
- Acquisitions and Disposals – Preparing Due Diligence Reports including review of property documents (leases, easements and the like); Reviewing and interpreting search results; where appropriate drafting amendments to Contracts.
- PEXA – Familiarity and competence with PEXA processes.
- Duty – Familiarity with the Duties Act as it applies to property transactions.
- Strata Development – Understanding of the development process and sale of ‘off the plan’ property.
- Reviewing and drafting Easement and associated property documents.
- Clear understanding of Titles Office practice and procedure in respect of leasing and transactions.
- Familiarity with Land Act, Property Law Act, Liquor Act and Body Corporate and Community Management Act.
