The Company’s principal place of business is located only 500m from the Mt Carbine township on the Mulligan Highway central to Mossman, Port Douglas, Mareeba, Julatten and Mt Molloy. Mt Carbine has a rich history of tungsten production and is strategically and conveniently located only 75k kms from beautiful Port Douglas in Far North Queensland. For those with families there is a choice of private and public schools, as well as universities and technical education facilities in the area.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated, passionate, and committed Logistics Manager to join our team. This role will be focusing on coordinating the transportation and logistics activities to ensure the efficient movement of materials in and out of the facility.
The Logistic Manager plays a pivotal role in planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and coordinating the supply, storage, and distribution of goods within our organization. The Logistics Manager will schedule all inbound/outbound shipments and strive to keep transportation costs low. The successful candidate will also be responsible for prioritizing tasks to meet expected shipping dates and maintaining an accurate inventory.
Key Responsibilities
· Formulate and implement distribution strategies, policies and plans to drive efficiency and effectiveness
· Schedule and track inbound and outgoing shipments
· Ensure product is delivered in a timely manner as per client criteria
· Assess and recommend ideal shipping methods, routing or carriers to meet necessary parameters, specifications and costs
· Negotiate rates with carriers to ensure they align with quality, cost and delivery requirements.
· Manage record keeping systems to meticulously track all movements of product
· Maintain service logs and safety records
· Collaborate with other departments and customers to address outward product requirements and associated transportation logistics, ensuring seamless delivery processes.
· Direct the activities of staff members, providing guidance, and ensuring the efficient execution of tasks, while continually monitoring their performance.
· Foster strong customer relationships.
· Ability to communicate with a high proficient and professional Spanish level to cooperate alongside our International team belonging to our European site in Spain.
Key Selection Criteria
· Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Management) compulsory.
· Previous experience in a similar role within a Logistics Industry and Warehouse Management Systems (at least 2 years)
· Self motivated with excellent problem solving skills
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the Company
· Outstanding attention to detail, safety and observation ability
· Highly organized with strong time management and communications skills to manage competing and/or changing priorities
· Systems savvy and comfortable with technology, particularly experienced with MS office (intermediate), Warehouse Management Systems, while able to adapt and be flexible with the changing needs of the Company
· Foreign language knowledge: Spanish at a high professional proficient level required.
· Drivers License - C Class (Essential)
The position is permanently located at Mt Carbine Mine in Far North Queensland with the appointed individual required to work on site daily five days per week. No FIFO roster will be considered for this position, permanent relocation is required. Accommodation and meals are not provided.
