About the Role
The Logistics Officer is integral to the operational aspects of Serco Defence's supply functions, stationed at the Ritchie Building in Watsons Bay. You will report directly to the Engineering Team Lead and the Contract Manager, collaborating closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including Engineering Managers and Training Systems Support Managers. Your main responsibilities will involve managing inventory, preparing purchase orders, and ensuring the accurate issuance of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently prepare and manage purchase orders and supply invoices
- Receive, store, and issue goods, maintaining accurate stock records and inventories
- Coordinate purchasing, warehousing, and inventory functions to optimise supply chain processes
- Dispose of surplus assets and obsolete stock in compliance with company policies
- Commit to Serco's value system, including adherence to conduct and safety rules aboard HMAS Watson.

To be successful in this role:
- Must be an Australian Citizen and currently hold or can obtain an Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance
- Experience in finding sourcing of supply and obtaining quotes from suppliers
- Knowledge of preparing purchase orders
- Proven success in a supply/logistics role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- High level of ability to use the Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to produce high quality work within tight timeframes
Desirable:
- Experience within Defence Industry, preferably as a Royal Australian Navy supplier
- Certificate / Diploma in Logistic or Commercial Purchasing
- Understanding of ADF contractual agreements and processes
