ACRUX Search are currently sourcing a Manual Machinist on a full-time basis, based in Malaga, WA.
Our client is a one stop surface solutions company using cutting edge surface engineering technology and a hands on approach to solve important problems, developing new strategies and ensure a more sustainable, cost effective solution for the mining/ heavy industries sector in WA and Australia-wide.
You would be playing part in a collaborative and innovative team working on a variety of manual and specialist projects, utilising robotic and laser developments, learning, developing and sharing your professional skills set while ensuring focus, quality and safety in the workplace.
Hours Monday to Friday - 7.6 hour days, with a 8am start (38 hour weeks)
May require after hours or weekend work (depending on workshop schedule).
Duties of the Machinist, but not limited to:
- Operating manual lathe/ bore machines
- Using measuring devices to record pre and post grinding measurements
- Fabrication work (welding/ fitting of jigs desirable)
- Commissioning, calibration, preventive and corrective maintenance task for workshop plant equipment
- Exercise attention to detail and accuracy in completing job-related documentation
- Operation of lifting devices
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow and implement necessary OHS workplace safety standards
- Follow and implement necessary QA/QC quality system standards
Requirements
- Fitter Machinist Trade Certificate
- Welding certification (desirable)
- Forklift licence (desirable)
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
- Possession of a current driver's license and reliable transport
- Experience in manual machining, commissioning, and maintenance programs
- Knowledge of safety and risk assessment tools
- Ability to read engineering drawings and produce work within quoted tolerances
- Familiarity with Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures
- Have a willingness to learn, grow and share your skill set
