About the role
Join Ridley Agriproducts as the Maintenance Manager at our Lara site! Reporting to the Site Manager, you will drive a continuous improvement culture, ensuring plant efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability. As a key member of the site leadership team, contribute to overall business strategy, development, and safety compliance.
As the Maintenance Manager you will play a pivotal role in fostering a preventative maintenance culture. Responsibilities include:
- Hands-on management of the maintenance team (2 fitters), ensuring servicing and modification of plant and equipment to meet safety and operational standards.
- Ensure the provision and upkeep of plant, facilities, and work systems, encompassing first aid facilities. Safely manage the use, handling, storage, and transportation of equipment and substances.
- Maintain effective inventory management by requisitioning necessary supplies and spare parts. Conduct stocktaking activities in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring the secure storage and operational condition of all inventory items.
- Collaboration with Production Managers and workers to promptly resolve plant operation issues.
- Implementation and oversight of the Guardian Preventative Maintenance program, ensuring effective planning & inventory management.
- Leadership in capital projects and active support in Continuous Improvement activities.
- Reporting non-conformance events related to product quality, safety, and plant maintenance to Site Management.
- Upholding safety standards, providing HR line management, and embodying Ridley values through leadership.
- High focus on compliance management, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
- Degree or trade qualification in engineering/mechanical/electrical.
- Substantial experience in supervising a maintenance crew in an industrial environment.
- Strong people management and leadership skills, coupled with problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- High mechanical aptitude and familiarity with Continuous Improvement principles.
- Organized, flexible, and results-focused mindset.
- Basic computing skills (MS Office).
- Physically fit with a willingness to work overtime or weekends if required.
- Valid driver's license, Forklift, Elevated Work Platform, Confined Space Licenses, and Return to Work training are desirable.
