SalaryYour next opportunityWe are actively recruiting for a Maintenance Specialist HME who will be responsible for Standardisation and Optimisation of Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) Maintenance Practices, Maintenance Strategies, Engineering Standards and the overall performance of HME assets across the Boral business. Reporting to the national HME Manager, this role is aimed at advancing Asset Management financial effectiveness and enabling Boral to achieve Safe, Compliant, Reliable and Optimised Assets (SCROA).This role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne. Some travel will be required to site locations in order to engage with operational stakeholders and drive efficiencies and improvements.Your day will involve:
- Reviewing HME utilisation and performance (e.g. hours, use, availability) across all sites to identify HME assets underutilised to support outcomes such as re-deployment, sale or working with site to improve utilisation.
- Review and improve HME Maintenance and asset strategies seeking to optimise Total Cost of Ownership and deliver required reliability.
- Development of specification for critical HME assets ensuring we have fit for purpose assets that deliver optimal cost per ton and reliability.
- Develop partnership with critical OEMS for HME equipment to ensure we manage all warranties, equipment issues, and improvement in a proactive and systemic manner.
- Review and analyse critical HME assets Availability, Unplanned Downtime, and MTBF metrics to identify and implement Reliability improvement opportunities
- Lead the implementation, review and analysis of HME Repairs & Maintenance spend, Fuel consumption, and HME Hire cost metrics, including major spend areas such as contractor cost, spare cost, and services to optimise Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
- Engineering degree or trade background preferred with significant maintenance and asset management experience in HME assets such as trucks, diggers, excavators and front-end loaders.
- Commercial & technical experience in maintenance in heavy industry such as mining or heavy manufacturing.
- Deep experience and understanding on technical aspects (design, operation, maintenance, etc.), developing specifications and carrying out Root Cause Analysis of HME critical assets such as trucks, diggers, excavators, and front-end loaders.
- Demonstrated experience performing analysis on plant performance issues and the identification of chronic and acute issues to trigger the need for reliability improvement projects and improving HME asset maintenance strategies using RCM on FMECA principles and processes.
- Demonstrated experience engaging and delivering outcomes at multiple levels within an organisation from senior leaders to frontline operators.
- Deep understanding of maintenance and asset management processes such as work management (e.g. planning and scheduling), maintenance strategies, maintenance KPIs and maintenance budgeting.
- Good understanding and experience using Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as Maximo.
