We are seeking a Maintenance Technician who is qualified in one of the following trades, Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrician, Welder/Fabricator. The successful candidate needs to be resilient, have the ability to adapt to a constantly evolving environment, and flexibility depending on operational demands.
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for providing experienced technical and general maintenance services at our farm located in Newry.
Hussey & Co pay above the Horticulture Award 2020, individual pay rates are dependent on qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities (may include depending on trade qualification)
- Ability to complete work related to your qualification e.g. fabrication work
- Maintain our fleet of John Deere and Kubota tractors, along with a range of other farm and harvesting equipment
- Working with stainless steel and tig welding
- Assist with the installation and relocation of associated equipment or machinery
- Plan, Coordinate and execute, preventative and reactive maintenance to machinery
- Diagnosis and repair of machinery in a timely manner
- Determine tools and equipment needed for individual repair and maintenance jobs
- Maintain an efficient and up to date data recording system
- Meet company KPI’s
- Comply with all relevant OH&S legislation
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Possess a valid qualification in a require trade
- Ability to investigate problems, determine and implement root cause corrections
- Strong knowledge of Various maintenance methods
- Technical skills set across a variety of engineering competencies
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Hold a current driver’s licence
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail
- Be available to work an on-call roster / breakdowns on weekends
