Primary Purpose:
- Support effective financial planning and management accounting.
- Develop and implement financial policies for performance management, asset maintenance, funding, and risk management.
- Ensure compliance with financial planning policies and systems.
- Formulate budgeting strategies aligned with council’s financial models.
- Provide information management systems to support decision-making.
- Support the Team Leader Management Accounting.
- Collaborate with finance teams for efficient financial operations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and legislation.
- Communicate financial objectives across units.
- Develop, monitor, and control council budgets.
- Evaluate budget proposals and business cases.
- Conduct budget reviews and trend analysis.
- Improve financial management systems.
- Comply with statutory financial and reporting obligations.
- Implement external audit recommendations.
- Maintain accurate financial ledgers and processes.
- Manage integrated information systems.

- Essential:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business, or Finance
- Experience with SAP Financial System and Business Intelligence tools
- Experience in management accounting, budgeting, and financial planning
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
- Desirable:
- Eligibility for ACA, CPA, or CIMA membership
- Local Government Accounting experience
