We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant with excellent Power BI skills to join our Finance team on a maternity leave contract. The Management Accountant is responsible for analysing and reporting on key financial data to ensure that the Club’s Executive and Department Managers receive timely, accurate and relevant information.
This is a dynamic, wide-ranging role and the Management Accountant will be involved in various financial management projects arising from the Club’s activities
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Sales Reporting - Responsible for overseeing the capture and analysis of daily trading income/revenue and for maintaining the data integrity between various systems the club operates.
- Financial Analysis and Variance Reporting - Prepare weekly and monthly management reports, highlight potential problems, identify trends and critical business drivers. Provide divisions and departments performance information and data to support understanding and decision-making.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports via Microsoft BI for management and board reporting.
- Cost Maintenance - Validate, review and analyse Cost of Beverage and Food regularly using inventory management system. Perform data collection and variance reporting on monthly beverage stocktake. Maintenance of the Point of Sale system throughout the Club.
- Month End Duties - Support month-end management reporting timetable and month-end process. Prepare all necessary reconciliations between various system modules.
- Sub Clubs - Responsible for overseeing the bookkeeping services provided for all Sub Clubs and preparing monthly reports as required.
- Annual budgets & forecasting - Maintain forecasting and budget templates with monthly updates to provide a rolling 12-month forecast.
- Assist the CFO with improving the systems surrounding all aspects of the Club’s budgets, forecasts and business planning, preparation of annual budgets, cash flow forecasts and five years forward estimates.
Essential Requirements
- At least five years' management accounting or business analyst experience as part of a finance team.
- Experience with Power BI essential and manipulating data through accounting systems and BI tools
- Extensive experience and a thorough working knowledge of computerised accounting systems and spreadsheets.
- Good verbal and written presentation skills.
- Analytical and logical problem solving skills.
- Experience in using and manipulating data through accounting systems and BI tools
- Ability to work independently and on own initiative, within a team environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail.
- A commitment to the aims of the Tattersall’s Club.
- Willingness to work in a co-operative environment.
Desirable Criteria
- A recognised accountancy qualification (CPA or CA).
- Broad commercial awareness.
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Ability to develop new accounting systems and improve existing ones.
- Experience of report writing.
- Experience of preparation for year-end audit.
- Exposure to not-for-profit / co-operative / charitable sector.
