As the Manager Communications and Engagement (Media and Social) at the SEC, you will be responsible for leading the media function and delivering compelling Media and Social content that focuses on investing in renewable energy and storage projects, supporting households to go all-electric and reduce their energy bills, and building the renewable energy workforce our energy transition requires.
Capabilities and areas of expertise that matter most for this role:
You have a highly tuned radar for issues and a passion for staying across the media landscape and advising on opportunities.
You are an excellent communicator – both in influencing, and also in written form.
You are a strategic thinker with equal strength in implementing – delivering with close attention to detail and a focus on getting a defined outcome.
You have professional qualifications in journalism, public relations or other relevant degree or media experience.
You have at least five years' experience in journalism, public relations and/or media teams with strong issues management exposure and writing skills.
You are experienced working in a fast-paced, high-performing team with high professional standards and adherence to deadlines and deliverables.
You are a proactive leader, responsive and you build strong relationships at all levels.
You practice cultural safety by creating environments, relationships and systems free from racism and discrimination of any kind, so that people feel safe and valued.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is Melbourne or Morwell.
