The Opportunity
We now have an exciting leadership opportunity available in the role of Manager Engineering Cost, Efficiency and Analytics. Reporting directly to our Head of Engineering this role is critical in identifying, evaluating, and articulating strategic objectives and opportunities and will see you managing the strategic cost and transformation agenda across Jetstar Engineering.
Acting as an integral member of the Jetstar Engineering Leadership Team, you will be responsible for facilitating and implementing transformational, continuous improvement and change programs whilst ensuring transformation programs are aligned with the strategic goals of Engineering.
As the Manager Engineering Cost, Efficiency and Analytics, your accountabilities will include:
- Lead, develop and drive the Jetstar Engineering transformation strategy
- Lead and manage major cross-functional initiatives and deliver agreed objectives (timeframe, budget, benefits realisation, scope, quality etc)
- Develop performance frameworks, metrics, cadence and reporting capability to drive sustainable business outcomes and better and more time efficient decision making
- Partnering with the Operational strategy, cost and performance team to embed the operational strategy within engineering
- Work closely with Jetstar and Qantas Group stakeholders on long term maintenance footprint strategy including identifying capacity constraints and opportunities/synergies
- Working with the Senior Manager AMO and Manager Commercial on labour strategies including labour providers, contractor ratios and EBA/IR strategy
- Working with the Manager Engineering Projects and Network and Scheduling on strategies to ensure Engineering can provide the required fleet/capacity
- Produce a suite of meaningful and insightful reporting for the Engineering Leadership Team (ELT) to identify strategies to improve fleet cost of ownership including through deploying technology enablers
- Identify instances of industry best practice to measure and benchmark against
- Strong strategic and commercial acumen with a demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives
- Experience in leading significant change either working for Jetstar in your previous roles
- Ability to translate business ideas and strategies into detailed approaches and quickly understand and apply new concepts
- Ability to think strategically and enact strategies using systems thinking
- Ability to confidently present to and influence a senior leadership team
- Ability to communicate & negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, Business, Engineering/ Management or equivalent, would hold you in high regard.
