The Manager Financial Accounting is a key role at the Department of Treasury, responsible for leading and delivering the financial operations, information, and reporting for the Treasury Operations division.

The work area
This role sits within the Financial Policy and Operations Directorate which is part of the Office of the Deputy Under Treasurer business unit.
The role of the Financial Policy and Operations Directorate is to:
- manage, administer and provide advice on whole of government treasury operations, including cash flow management and liquidity, investment of the Public Bank Account, Consolidated Account Debt management; and
- provide advice in relation to the development, review, interpretation and application of the State’s financial management and accountability framework which includes the Financial Management Act 2006.
The opportunity
Are you passionate about numbers and having an important role? We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced accountant to join us and make a difference for Western Australia.
In this role, you will:
- Maintain the central accounts of the Western Australian State Government in accordance with financial management legislation and the Treasurer’s Instructions;
- Produce quarterly and annual financial statements of Treasury Administered and Finance Administered; and
- Lead, manage and develop staff to build the branch’s capability for efficient and effective delivery of financial management operations, information and reporting.
