We currently seek a Marine Safety Service Technician Traineeship candidate based in our Taren Point service centre.
Your Opportunity
The Trainee Marine Safety Service Technician's role is to undergo structured training in the service, delivery and installation of VIKING life-saving equipment into Australia's Offshore, Maritime and Defence industries.
This would include opportunities to work on life rafts, lifejackets, immersion suits and offshore evacuation systems.
The role would see the suitable candidate learning, through practical hands-on experience and VIKING led training courses, the role of a VIKING Service technician.
The ultimate aim is the successful candidate's full certification in VIKING's life-saving appliance service division working on premium products enjoying the challenges of the marine industry.
About You
This position would ideally suit someone who has an interest in starting a career in the marine or offshore safety industry. You do not however require any marine experience to apply to become a Trainee Marine Safety Service Technician, we only ask that you are:
- Resilient, mature willing to learn and a good problem solver
- Be able to multitask and be able to forward-think
- Reliable and have the ability to adapt and overcome challenges
- Have the ability to pass offshore medicals and training
- Willing to travel offshore and be away from home for limited periods of time
