The Marketing and Events Coordinator operates as a member of a small team who work collaboratively to develop and implement contemporary marketing, communications and engagement strategy that drives a proactive and targeted approach to student attraction and retention and protects and enhances the College’s position in market in the context of our catholic ethos and Mercy values.
Accountable to the Director of Marketing, Communications and Engagement, the Marketing and Events Coordinator is responsible for fostering effective relationships with our extended community as well as sourcing content, drafting communications and supporting engagement events and activities that drive participation and contribution to Mercedes College and positively build our brand.
The role

Communications
- Support delivery of high-quality communication services (including digital, online, print, face-face)
- Support content development including photography/videography to capture College activities, activations, and Events
- Support high quality service provision across the College to grow community engagement, internally and externally
- Monitoring of communications, community engagement and event performance, making best use of available analytics
- Manage all invoice processing for the department
Events
- Coordinate external College wide events, including supplier management, set up, budgets, ticketing, venue liaison
- Provide assistance as required, for key stakeholder events ie: assemblies, InterCol, College musical, exhibitions
- Coordinate Graduation Ball and Ceremony, including venue management, production schedules, certificates, AV
- Support departmental events as directed – set up, catering, signage, ticketing, theming
- Provide assistance on design elements for all College and internal events, ie: imagery, photography for event branding
Marketing/Engagement
- Liaison with key stakeholder groups, including Old Scholars, Parent Engagement Group (PEG), Friends of the Arts etc.
- Provision of support for advertising activities, including managing timelines and schedules for production and delivery
- Support the delivery of the College’s Social Media activity, ie: photography, SM schedule, photo permissions
- Provision of support for the delivery of events and publicity activities, ie: TV interviews, photo shoots, coordinating film crews
- Maintenance of member databases
About you
You’re an experienced Marketing and Events professional who holds the following qualifications and can demonstrate the following:
- Tertiary qualifications at the Certificate 4 level or above in event management and/or marketing
- Demonstrated expertise and experience delivering events for or on behalf of an organisation
- Experience working with creative agencies to deliver projects on time, brief and budget
- Experience working as part of a team and supporting a team to deliver events, marketing activations
- Experience using Microsoft packages – WORD, Excel, Powerpoint
- Willingness to uphold and contribute to the culture and ethos of our Catholic College, including proactively demonstrating a willingness to understand and engage in the Mercy philosophy and the unique characteristics, identity and culture of the College
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Have high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive and effective working relationships at all levels
- Show demonstrated ability to work under pressure with competing priorities and deadlines
- Actively contribute to creating a team culture of outstanding customer service
- Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with other departments and community
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) in accordance with the Child Protection Policy of the South Australian Commission of Catholic Schools (SACCS)
- Current ‘Responding to risk of harm, abuse and neglect’ (RRHAN) training
- Valid HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care setting First Aid certification (training will be provided as required)
