Brisbane Basketball Incorporated is a not-for-profit organisation focused on growing the sport of basketball in the Southeast corner. With a strong club base, the Association runs regular fixtures, junior and senior competitions, representative teams, and development programs. The Association is the second largest in the Queensland, with over 5,000 members and over 12,000 connected individuals.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the General Manager, the successful applicant will lead the Marketing and Events functions of the business with a focus on delivering strategic objectives that will increase the visibility, brand, and reputation of Brisbane Basketball. This position sits within the Leadership Team of Brisbane Basketball.
Due to the nature of community sport and this role, in particular, the position may, from time to time, require an additional contribution from the successful applicant. This could include working outside regular office hours and attending major events, i.e., NBL1. It is expected that the successful applicant remains cognisant of this and makes every effort to assist the Association in meeting the expectations of key stakeholders.

- KEY AREAS OF MANAGEMENT
1.1 Marketing and promotion of Basketball Activities.
1.2 Management of the ‘Brisbane Basketball’, ‘Brisbane Capitals’ and ‘Ford Aussie Hoops | Brisbane websites.
1.3 Management of the BBI Webstore
1.4 Management of all Social Media platforms.
1.5 Oversight and Management of NBL1 Event Delivery.
2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 Attending all relevant meetings.
2.2 Establish and measure targets and long terms goals with the General Manager.
2.3 Foster relationships with member clubs and other basketball stakeholders.
2.4 Monthly reporting.
2.5 Development and management of the basketball calendar.
3. MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS
3.1 Conduct fortnightly meetings with staff to ensure all marketing tasks are managed and membership/ customer expectations are met.
3.2 Develop a knowledge of Basketball Connect (Competition/club Management software).
3.3 Attend general office tasks such as reception and other general admin work.
4. CAPITALS NBL, SQJBC AND STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
4.1 Assist in delivering effective, streamlined communication processes.
4.2 Coordination of media days.
4.3 Delivery of player recognition (spotlighting performance).
4.4 Delivery of ‘Coaches Corner.
4.5 Oversee the implementation of new marketing concepts.
4.6 Attendance at all NBL1 home games and management of the ‘game day’ and the various volunteers.
5. COMPETITIONS (BBJBC, SENIOR SOCIAL, GBL) & PROGRAMS (MINI HOOPS, HOLIDAY HOOPS)
5.1 Assist in developing streamlined processes for effective communication.
5.2 Assist in the promotion of competitions to increase team registrations.
5.3 Delivery of team/club recognition (spotlighting finals performance)
5.4 Delivery of player recognition (GBL Gold only)
5.5 Spotlighting ex-capitals player performance (collegiate and professional athletes)
6. OFFICIALS – REFEREES, STATS AND SCOREBENCH
6.1 Assist in developing streamlined processes for effective communication.
6.2 Delivery of officials’ recognition/promotion.
7. MEDIA AND COMMUNICATIONS
7.1 Management of the website and webstore.
7.2 Manage and develop the Association’s social media platforms and marketing collateral across Brisbane Basketball and Brisbane Capitals platforms.
7.3 Develop and deliver the promotional calendar and new concepts. Make sure that this is promoted to the membership via segmented newsletters
7.4 Develop communication templates for all areas of the association.

- Excellent relationship management skills.
- Excellent oral and written skills.
- Strong knowledge of Canva, Adobe Photoshop (or similar)
- Strong knowledge of MailChimp
- Strong knowledge of Website systems (please note we use Craft).
