About the role
The Communications Project Officer role is part of the Business Communications team, which delivers and supports the marketing communications needs of WorkSafe's business units. This position works closely with the Business Communications Manager, Senior Marketing Communications Advisors and Marketing Communications Advisors to deliver WorkSafe's external communications activities and campaigns.
The Marketing branch includes Business Communications, Marketing, and Design teams and is part of the wider External Affairs team. Key accountabilities of the role include;
- Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of business communications, campaigns and/or marketing materials.
- Plan and lead the below the line component of marketing campaigns for the Business Communications team.
- Problems solve and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to provide communication solutions for complex business issues.
- Brief and collaborate with external suppliers such as creative and media agencies to deliver communications activities and campaigns.
- Co-ordinate the processing of purchase order, payment of invoices and provide regular reports on planned expenditure, as part of the Business Communications team budget.
- Provide general operational support to Business Communication team members, as required.

About you
You have experience in delivering multi-channel marketing, communications and PR campaigns. You have experience using digital channels, including social media and email marketing, and have a demonstrated ability to liaise on a professional level with a diverse stakeholder group. In addition, you will have;
- Well rounded client service skills and ability to respond in a timely manner.
- Strong time management, prioritisation and organisational skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- A focus on teamwork and collaboration, with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team or with some autonomy
- A Tertiary qualification in Communications, Media or a relevant field
