The Practice:
Central Health Alliance and Port Stephens Integral Health is a well-established GP and Allied Health clinic located in the Newcastle Airport precinct. The practice is seeking enthusiastic, friendly, experienced Receptionist to join our very busy General Practice and Allied Health Service facility.
We are currently seeking a position for our General Practice and Allied Health Reception with ongoing regular hours.
The practice will offer the successful candidate a fun, family friendly workplace with a supportive team environment with training for both services provided.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience as a Medical Receptionist in a General Practice/Allied Health Practice is preferred, minimum 12 months experience is desired but not essential.
- Previous customer service experience required for this position with a minimum of 12 months.
- Must be available to work evenings (usually 1- 2 evening/week including Friday evenings)
- Working hours will vary.
- Must be available to cover annual leave/sick leave shifts at short notice
- Must be available Monday to Friday
- Must be available to work the occasional Saturday
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be able to cope with a fast paced practice and able to work autonomously.
- Experience with Best Practice Software is preferred
- A professional and strong customer service approach
- Accurate communication skills.
- Eye for detail essential.
- The ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels
- Proficient computer skills
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi- task, prioritise and be able to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team
- Show Initiative and ambition
- Demonstrate the ability to interpret client/customer needs and is sensitive to the differences in the needs of individuals
- Flexibility with days and hours
- Experience with Medicare, Billing and Accounting software (desirable)
- Familiar with Hicaps preferable
- Contributes to the team by accomplishing their roles and responsibilities
Position Description:
- General Reception duties
- Responsible for opening/closing of practice and Saturday reception for General Practice/Allied Health Service.
- Billing and creating accounts
- Communicating with external providers/services
- Confirming patient appointments
- Maintain computerised appointments and medical record system including document scanning and allocation
- Responsible for recalls
- Multiline phone system
- Accurately record and pass on messages for GP's and Allied Health providers
- Salary: Award rate under the Health Professionals and support services award 2010
