Aurenne Group Mining is currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Medical Emergency Service Officer (MESO) to join the team at our Mount Ida Gold Project reporting to the OHS Superintendent.
This position will provide the highest possible standard of pre-hospital emergency care, adhering to treatment procedures, accurately completing documentation and apply the correct operational procedure in response to the situation presented to them. Additionally, they will support the Superintendent with various tasks across the health and safety management on site.
Key tasks:
• Provision medical treatment as defined by treatment protocols and maintain confidential medical records
• Maintaining the medical clinic facilities, village first aid room, ambulances and fire trucks
• Emergency response preparedness, including delivery of emergency response training and inspections
• Providing 24/7 on call support in the case of after hours emergencies
• Conducting regular inspections on the site medical facilities to ensure they are stocked and maintained
• Supporting daily management of site medical centre
• Supporting emergency response team where relevant
• Supporting the management of poison permit and liaison with external emergency authorities
• Assisting with approval of pre-employment medicals
• Supporting injury management and workers compensation case management
• Conducting regular inspections to ensure all site medical equipment is in date/serviced
• Update and implement Emergency Evacuation Plans for each area of the site (as required)
• Facilitate emergency evacuation drill schedule for the site as per the schedule
• Assist in conducting Mock Incident Control exercises as directed by the ER Coordinator
Qualifications (Essential)
• Cert IV Health Care
• Cert III in Emergency Response and Rescue
• Advance Life Support
• Current manual Drivers Licence Class C and HR B Licence
• Minimum 3 years in a similar role in Mining
• Accident / emergency in remote area experience
• Ability to canulate a patient
Desirable
• Diploma of Paramedicine
• Cert IV Training and Assessment
• Cert IV OHS / WHS
