AddressMedical Receptionist position
PREMA HOUSE MEDICAL CENTRE is a general practice established in 1996. Since that time, we have been proudly serving the population of Lismore and surrounding areas. We aim to provide quality care in a relaxed medical setting with special emphasis on holistic and preventative medicine. Our team is committed to promoting health, wellbeing and disease prevention. Our team is dynamic, energetic and has a common purpose in giving our patients exceptional service.
We are looking for an experienced Medical Receptionist who can provide coverage at our two sites - Lismore and Southern Cross University, own transport is required . This is a casual position and salary will be in line with candidates’ experience. The role reports directly to the Practice Manager.
Role Responsibilities
Delivering quality administration services to doctors and patients which includes:
- General administration and reception duties
- Manage the greeting, registration and departure of patients
- Answering telephone calls and responding to email
- Scheduling appointments
- Maintaining medical records and updating database accurately
- Accurate billings, cash collection and receipting of patient services
- End of day reconciliations
- Delivering quality service and assistance to doctors working in the centre

- Ability to develop quality working relationships
- Maintain a positive attitude
- Maintain high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently, show initiative, prioritise and meet deadlines
- High level of organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills
- Exceptional customer service, data entry and communication skills
- Strong computer skills and able to use Medical Software (preferably Best Practice)
- Medical receptionist experience in a General Practice preferred
