Medical Receptionist (Permanent Part-Time)
Sea Change Weight Loss Clinic specialises in the surgical management of obesity. Our practice consists of two surgeons, two dietitians and administration staff.
The applicant must be an energetic, highly capable and motivated receptionist in order to join our team. While it is preferable that the applicant will have 2 years experience working in a medical or allied health practice, it is most important that the applicant has the ability to learn new tasks and systems. You will receive structured on the job training to increase your skills and knowledge to be able to fulfil this role. The position will be permanent part-time 2 days/week with the ability to cover sick leave and holiday leave.
The successful applicant will be required to work on site in the specialist rooms.
Responsibilities
- Answering phone and email enquiries in a courteous and professional manner
- Issuing patient invoices and receipts, patient quotes, attending to account enquiries, billing Medicare, DVA and health funds and attending to bad debts
- Preparing theatre lists
- Medical typing
- Entering data and maintaining patient database
- Management of incoming and outgoing mail and email
- General office and reception duties
- Booking patients for surgery
- Liaising with referring doctors, hospital theatre, ward and reception staff
- Banking and end of day reconciliation

- Ability to answer telephone and email enquiries
- Experience scheduling patient appointments
- Ability to work as part of a team and work independently
- The ability to be available for relief when other staff are on leave
Desirable Criteria
- At least 2 years experience in a medical or allied health practice
- Experience in Clinic to Cloud Practice Software
- Experience preparing theatre lists
