Medical Receptionist - Permanent Part-time (2-3 days per week)
Goldfields Urology is a private specialist medical practice. Within our practice we have two urologists, one gynaecologist, two nurse practitioners, a practice manager, three practice nurses together with three administration staff. Our patients are very important to us and we strive to support them with care and understanding, and offer appropriate health care options with up-to-date medical knowledge and technology.
Qualifications & experience
- Previous medical experience is preferred but not essential
- Medium to high level of computer expertise with the ability to learn and understand new software systems
- Attention to detail is vital along with pride in your abilities and skills
- Ability to work autonomously within a collaborative team environment
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment
- Ability to communicate well and enjoy interaction with patients and visitors
- Well-developed organisational skills including time management
- Current Police Check (at applicants expense on offer of employment)
Tasks & responsibilities
- Reporting to Practice Manager
- Welcoming patient and visitors to the practice
- Answering phone enquiries promptly and attending to these in an appropriate and timely manner
- Invoice/receipting and claiming of electronic patient rebate from Medicare, billing DVA/Workcover/TAC
- Processing patient hospital admissions with appropriate paperwork and instructions for patients
- Making appointments for patients with practice clinical staff and other medical appointments
- General administration duties
- Supporting our surgeons and nurse practitioners to deliver excellent care
- Ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for both patients and staff
