Our client seeks a motivated Medical Receptionist to join their team in a busy cardiology practice in East Melbourne. In this full-time role, you will be the first point of contact for their valued patients, providing exceptional customer service, managing patient flow and ensuring the smooth operation of the front office. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be highly organised and be able to multitask.
Duties:
- Greet patients warmly, check them in efficiently and manage appointments
- Answer enquiries with empathy and professionalism
- Coordinate referrals and liaise with referring physicians
- Maintain patient records in practice management software
- Process insurance claims and payments
- Scanning and electronic filing of incoming correspondence, reports, and referrals
- Manage doctor schedules and confirm appointments
- Maintain a clean and welcoming reception area
- Answer phones and direct calls appropriately
Skills & Experience:
- Medical experience in a similar role preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Proficient in computer skills and medical software - knowledge of Genie software an advantage
- Positive and empathetic attitude with a commitment to patient care
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Discretion and commitment to patient confidentiality
