About the role:
We have a couple opportunities for a Day Hospital Admissions Officer & Medical Receptionists to join our Hobart centre. The Patient Admissions Officer is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the collection and verification of patient information for timely referral to Medical Specialist and admission to the centre. We are flexible to offer this role in a full-time, or part-time capacity (4 days per week). This role will report to the Administration Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Liaises with patients and family in a compassionate and friendly manner
Ensures accurate collection of new patient information
Confirms financial responsibility for all admissions
Liaise with patient and patient’s family effectively
Liaises with health insurance fund customer service personnel to verify health insurance status
Communicating clearly with patients and their families to ensure all patients are well informed of financial costs related to admissions
Skills & Experience:
Relevant professional medical / hospital reception experience, with current knowledge and understanding of health insurance funds
Exceptional communication and customer service skills
Professional, efficient, and friendly manner both over-the-phone and face-to-face
Outstanding team member qualities including willing to support your colleagues and positive attitude
Ability to work efficiently with attention to detail
Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook
GP Practice or Medical Software experience highly advantageous
