The Role
We are seeking a friendly, reliable and committed experienced front desk Medical Receptionist for our rapidly growing general practice. The ability to work actively as part of a team and strong communication skills both verbal/written are a must, along with experience using Best Practice Software. This is a part time/Casual role working alongside one other receptionist, with occasional working alone, so must be comfortable with this. The hours of 9.00am to 5.00pm are required, allowing for a work life balance.
Key Responsibilities
Duties involve but are not limited to:
- Present a professional and welcoming presence at all time.
- Assist all patient and employees in relation to reception matters.
- Respond to phone calls promptly and courteously.
- Complete new patient registrations and update paper and electronic files as required into practice management system.
- Record and manage appointments and patient arrival ensure optimal allocations of clinician time for each patient, ensuring communication with patient to provide updates on expected waiting times.
- Attend to the well-being and comfort of people waiting for services.
- Enter and ensure accurate MBS items, consumable billings and receipts on a daily basis.
- Managing incoming faxes/email/post
Qualification and experience (Desirable)
- A combination of experience, expertise and competence sufficient to perform the duties required at this level
- Previous experience working in primary healthcare centre.
- Knowledge of the local health and community services sector.
- First Aid and CPR training
- Occupational health and safety
