Key Responsibilities
To succeed in this role you will be an experienced Medical Secretary with a skill set that will see you deliver upon the following tasks and duties:
- Diary Management: Organise and maintain appointment schedules
- Consulting Sessions Coordination: Ensure the smooth running of consulting sessions
- Appointment Reminders: Send reminders (letters, phone calls, SMS) 5 days prior to appointments
- Patient Interaction: Meet and greet patients, book consultations, and follow up on diagnostic imaging/pathology services
- Payment Handling: Efficiently take and record payments
- Communication Management: Answer and direct telephone calls, manage emails, and respond promptly
- Patient Resources Maintenance: Keep patient resources and handouts up to date
- Patient Enquiries: Handle enquiries timely and task nurses urgently for same-day items
- Patient Records Management: Manage and update patient records (Genie), import documents/reports/results/referrals as needed, and monitor in-tray correspondence
- Recall Movement: Prioritise and manage patient recalls
- Administrative Duties: Perform scanning, photocopying, faxing, filing, and emailing as required
