Opportunity This is an exciting entry level opportunity at our Boddington Gold Mine. Reporting to the Blasting Supervisor, you will join a highly motivated team and learn all aspects of being part of the Blast Crew to ensure delivery of a quality blasting services to the open pit mining area. Your responsibilities will include: Helping with various tasks like setting up, marking areas, preparing explosives, loading, and managing equipment. Making sure the holes for drilling are the right depth. Keeping things safe before a blast by taking precautions. Making sure all paperwork is accurate and to high standard for Newmont's records. Operating shift to get the most work done safely and efficiently. You will have strong communications skills and a can do attitude to work effectively across departments to achieve team objectives and goals. You will need to be physically fit and willing to work 12 hour shifts in all weather conditions. You will also need to hold a valid driver’s licence and be ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
