About the Role
The MRFF Proposal Manager, part of the Innovation and Enterprise portfolio, plays a pivotal role in securing funding aligned with the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) objectives. Responsible for crafting high-quality proposals and communications, this role collaborates closely with the MRFF Initiatives team to identify opportunities, engage stakeholders, and streamline processes. With a focus on multi-million dollar bids and strategic partnerships, the Manager ensures the University of Melbourne's research strengths are effectively showcased to maximise funding success and advance impactful healthcare initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and coordinate major MRFF proposals including identification of emerging funding opportunities;
- Prepare MRFF-related briefings for external stakeholders, including government, industry, investors, health service providers, community groups and philanthropic organsations.
- Assist the Manager, MRFF Initiatives with the development of the communications strategy for MRFF Initiatives and its effective implementation
Who we are looking for
You will possess strong leadership and communication abilities, adept at engaging with diverse stakeholders across various channels. Additionally, you should excel in conceptualising and conveying opportunities, understanding external priorities, and presenting compelling value propositions. Your expert planning, organisational skills, and capacity to deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines will be crucial, along with a proven ability to thrive in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
You will also have:
- Post-graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience
- Track record for securing substantial funding for major proposals, in which you have been a primary author
- Experience in preparing detailed, high quality applications for grant schemes and/or proposals for non-grant funding sources, such as government tenders or commercial proposals.
