An exciting opportunity exists for a Music Therapist with a strong interest in and commitment to the assisting people in their mental health recovery journey to join the very experienced and dedicated Allied Health team of the Mental Health Inpatient Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital.
The incumbent may be required to work after-hours and on weekend.

MHDA Declaration Each person’s unique journey of recovery will be supported by mental health and alcohol services in a way that foster’s hope, purpose and resilience. MHDA Statement of Intention The intention of the NSLHD MHDA is to provide recovery oriented, trauma informed services that are guided by evidence based practices and collaboration The Music Therapist will provide a comprehensive Music Therapy service to the consumers of the hospital This service will be delivered through individual and group session in accordance with the principles and practices of Music Therapy and will include assessment and interventions as appropriate.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
Recognised Music Therapy Degree and eligible for registration with the national registration body the Australian Music Therapists Association (AMTA inc).
Demonstrated motivation to work in mental health with an understanding of the barriers to engagement faced by people who experience severe mental illness.
Demonstrated competence in music therapy practice with individuals and groups.
