About the Role
The National Account Manager – Retail is responsible for managing strategic customer accounts at a national level, maximizing all opportunities for sales within each channel.
This role involves day to day management of account relationships with key customer personnel, promotion management, account planning, category analysis and ownership of the category reviews for your customers.
Responsibilities of this position include but not limited to;
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal team members.
- Evaluate ongoing sales performance and take ownership to improve sales and profitability through recommendations to the National Sales Manager.
- Work alongside sales and marketing team to shape and influence strategic plans, then embracing the challenge to execute with pace.
- Plan and deliver an annual calendar including promotion activity and key events.
- Execute strategies to drive category growth for both businesses
- Manage administrative account issues that may arise.
- Category and product review.
- Catalogue submissions and product forecasting and reviews.
- Category management and achieving sales budgets.
- Price file management.
- Attend trade shows, supplier conferences and major events for assigned channel partners.
- Ownership and execution of channel partner training plan.
- Adherence to, all legal, statutory and WHS policies, systems, and practices.
To be successful in this position you must possess the following;
- significant leadership experience within a fast-paced, diverse, and high-pressure food manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3-5 years account management and/or relevant FMCG sales experience
- Proficient in Excel with the ability to analyse and manipulate data (i.e. Pivot tables, complex graphs, v-lookups, & basic Macros)
