Growing transport logistics company in Sydney's Southwest is looking for a National WHS Manager to join them on their evolving safety journey. They are experts in logistics, warehousing and transportation and pride themselves on a strong community of staff and customers.
The Role
This is a brand-new standalone WHS Manager role. It is important for this person to build strong relationships with the work force, internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop an understanding of the organisations health and safety objectives and coordinate the businesses safety strategies to meet these objectives.
- Provide advice, information, instruction, and training to address WHS issues.
- Helping and managing the risk associated with hazards across our work sites.
- Reviewing and analysing injury and incident reports and data.
- Develop the WHS documentation (standards, procedures, forms, and checklists etc) necessary to facilitate compliance with WHS legislation and standards.
- Promote safety awareness across the organisation.
- Travel to all sites to support our managers and supervisors in implementing our safety management system as it evolves and ensure safety procedures are being followed.
- Lead the ISO accreditation process and maintain relevant certifications.
You must obtain the below to be considered:
- Tertiary qualified in Workplace Health and Safety and or Environment or a related discipline
- Extensive experience in contemporary safety leadership and or management working in a large, higher risk organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and shape safety culture, ability to lead a team, influence and deliver.
- Experience in fast paced, ever-changing environments, ability to be agile and problem solve.
- Proven ability to build relationships with external parties such as regulators and drive performance improvement with outsourced delivery partners.
- Extensive knowledge managing health and safety legislation and a clear understanding of current legislation within the state.
