Our client is a well-respected and growing NDIS provider situated in the SE Suburbs of Melbourne. The positive vibe in the office hits you as you walk through the door – a hive of activity with smiling team faces. 

Due to business growth, the two committed and engaged Directors are now seeking an Operations Manager to work closely with them to take ownership of of SIL and in-home care delivery.  

This is a rare opportunity to develop a role and set up team reporting and efficiencies.

The NDIS Operations Manager will be the go-to for daily frontline operations of the business. As the Operations Manager you will be managing services for clients and also contributing to the growth and development of the team and services you provide.

A natural and experienced team leader, you will have a sound knowledge of NDIS service delivery with a commitment to excellent and compassionate provision.

You will also have the ability to accurately report on service delivery status to the Directors. You will also be tenacious regarding completion of all reporting required by the NDIS.

Responsibilities

The role of the Operations Manager is to ensure that the company services are delivered in an effective and efficient manner in line with organisational goals and objectives.  The role reports into the Managing Directors and is pivotal to the delivery of NDIS services as well as the growth and success of the business.

The role requires a sound working knowledge and understanding of disability and healthcare service delivery, relevant academic qualifications and wide-ranging professional networks along with possessing a comprehensive knowledge of developments which may impact services.

To be effective, the incumbent ensures staff use and correctly and efficiently apply the company-defined processes, procedures and systems.

The role specifically manages the following functional coordinators: Supported Independent Living, Service Delivery, Support, Day Program, Maintenance and Medical Supply.  It is anticipated SIL management will take up 60% of the role.

  • Client Service Delivery – Working with case managers and coordinators deliver excellent and efficient care services in home, in SIL homes and the Day Care Centre.  Ensure a first-class intake process and manage incident handling.  Manage SIL properties and day-to-day team requirements.
  • Team Management – Take responsibility and report on service delivery team activities and provide leadership to the Coordinators.  Leading by example, ensure the continuation and development of motivated, passionate and engaged teams.   Facilitate regular team meetings and training.
  • Process, Quality and Efficiency – maintain excellence in all three service delivery areas ensuring database activity is accurate and up-to-date. Sign off crisis management reports and provide leadership in SIL management processes.
  • Reporting – Work closely with Directors and attend weekly reporting meetings to update them on service delivery achievement and/or issues. Responsible for reporting incidents to NDIS according to compliance requirements.  Work with senior managers to support business growth.

Requirements for the role

  • 3+ years in senior/team lead in NDIS care delivery
  • Strong understanding of NDIS and SIL Housing
  • Management Degree or relevant experience in a similar role or a similar industry considered ideal - (Tertiary qualifications in community services, social work or disability related field)
  • Full driving licence skills
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel
