Ndis Support Specialist

          Tropical Transformations Pty Ltd, a local and family owned, Disability Support provider, seeks compassionate and detail-oriented individuals for a permanent part-time Support Specialist role on the Fraser Coast. Starting with a 12-hour contract, with the opportunity to gain more hours based on performance. We are an organisation dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with diverse abilities and are firmly committed to providing quality support services to our participants.

          As a Support Specialist, you will need to be proactive in seeking out and engaging in meaningful activities with participants. You will be responsible for providing community access support, domestic support, and personal care, as well as mentoring neurodiverse and mental health participants. Additionally, as part of your role, you may be required to engage as an In-Home Cleaner. Therefore, you must possess strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

          To be successful in this position, you will need to love working with people, love having fun, think outside the “Disability” box and believe in making a difference with people living with different abilities. We seek reliable people with excellent communication skills, patience and understanding. The ability to think creatively on your feet to solve problems is also important.

Essential criteria:

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) with experience OR relevant experience and willing to obtain a qualification.
• Current Working with Children Card (Qld) Blue Card.
• Current First Aid and CPR.
• Current Driver's License and reliable car with comprehensive insurance.
• Current OR willing to apply for NDIS Workers Screening Check.

Desirable and/or willingness to obtain:

• NDIS Workers Orientation Modules
• Infection Control Certificate
• Hand Hygiene Certificate

Schedule:

• Split shifts
• Day shifts
• Short Term Accommodation
• Some Nights & Weekends 

Experience:

• Developmental disabilities: 1 year (Preferred)
• Complex Care: Peg, Port, Epilepsy, etc. (Preferred)

Supplemental pay types:

• Penalty rates under SHADS award
