About the Role

As the New Energy & Renewables Connections Specialist, you will support the Customer Connections functions across our customer, industry, and internal and external stakeholder groups. 

The position plays a critical role within Customer Connections in the New Energy & Renewables (NE&R) Team, supporting growth in renewable energy and contributing to industry initiatives and changes. The role delivers operational support for complex solar connections. Initially the role has  a strong focus on facilitating and improving major customer-initiated CT Metering requests, Emergency Backstop Mechanism connection requirements for systems >200kva, and supporting the successful implementation and scale-up of flexible exports for residential customers.

The role will deliver core functions resulting in good customer experience for complex connections, but will also contribute to continued business improvements in this fast-paced area – ideally suited to someone with a keen interest in solar and with an analytical approach to their work. Experience working with, for, or as a solar installer or retailer is favorable.

This role will report to the Team Leader, New Energy & Renewables and is located at Southbank, Victoria.

What you will deliver

• Responsible for processing complex connection applications for the New Energy and renewables team
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support our new-energy and renewable customers
• Ensure operational processes are efficient, effective and lead to a positive customer experience
• Provide renewable energy connections subject matter expertise across our business and contribute to business changes ensuring quality processes are delivered efficiently with a strong customer and industry focus
• Apply technical knowledge and share business experience to support the development of efficient processes to support complex solar applications
• Provide operational reporting and forecasting to support growth related initiatives and resourcing
• Develop and maintain reference material to support New Energy & Renewable functions

What we like about you                                                                                                                                       

• Proven operational experience within the New Energy & Renewables industry, including knowledge of the Distribution network – experience working with, for, or as a solar installer favourable
• Experience developing and successfully implementing business processes and procedures to align with industry and business requirements
• Proven ability to work and multi-task under pressure, respond to challenging operational situations in a fast-changing part of the business
• Good interpersonal and networking skills and be a highly articulate team player – customer facing experience favourable
• Ability to schedule work and deliver to tight deadlines
