Join the team at Essential Assessment, Australia's leading Numeracy & Literacy assessment & learning platform! We are currently seeking a Numeracy Content Development Specialist (7-10) to contribute to the growth and excellence of our Numeracy platform. As a member of the Numeracy Content team, you will be tasked with crafting, reviewing, and generating Numeracy materials specifically tailored for Secondary (Year 7-10) levels within the Essential Assessment platform. You will collaborate with our other Numeracy Content Specialists and our Publishing Team to ensure the consistent delivery of top-notch materials aligned with the supported Australian curriculums. This initially will be a 12-month full-time, fixed term contract with the potential to extend or move into a permanent position. Our ideal candidate will be based in Melbourne, however we can offer a fully remote role and are open to candidates anywhere across Australia.

What you will do in this role:
- Review and map Australian Curriculum, NSW Syllabus and Victorian Curriculum documents against Essential Assessment content to ensure alignment and identify opportunities for development
- Create and/or modify Years 7-10 Numeracy content for Essential Assessment’s learning and assessment products in line with Content Development guidelines and project deadlines
- Actively engage in editorial processes that include pre- and post-production feedback cycles and peer reviews
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues to contribute to the achievement of individual, team and organisational goals
- Review existing Essential Assessment Numeracy online and paper-based resources and identify opportunities to continuously improve our product offering.
- Creative idea-generator, can see maths inspiration all around and convert this into engaging assessment content
- Assessment and/or item writing experience (digital and/or paper)
- Year 7-10 Mathematics teaching experience in Australia
- Tertiary qualification in Education and/or Teaching
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Understanding of, and genuine interest in, Mathematics pedagogy and best practices in Maths teaching
- Confidence with technology, in particular Microsoft Office; experience with digital graphing tools i.e. Desmos is advantageous.
