A chance has emerged for individuals to join the leadership team in the dynamic General Surgical Ward at a private hospital in Melbourne as a Nurse Unit Manager. This ward specialises in providing post-operative care for patients undergoing gastroenterology, gynaecology, urology, and general surgery. The position is a permanent full-time role.
ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Nurse Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- The position is responsible for providing clinical leadership to the Medical Ward to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, and quality management of all patients;
- You will provide clinical and operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based;
- As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial, and material resources.
- Current registration with AHPRA;
- Working with Children check;
- Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent;
- Compliance with ACSQHC National standards;
- A strong commitment to developing in a management role;
- Computer literacy, including MS Office and various databases;
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment;
- Proven time management and prioritisation skills;
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management;
- Demonstrated HR management experience.
