A chance has emerged for individuals to join the leadership team in the dynamic General Surgical Ward at a private hospital in Melbourne as a Nurse Unit Manager. This ward specialises in providing post-operative care for patients undergoing gastroenterology, gynaecology, urology, and general surgery. The position is a permanent full-time role.
ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Nurse Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• The position is responsible for providing clinical leadership to the Medical Ward to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, and quality management of all patients;
• You will provide clinical and operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based;
• As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial, and material resources.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Current registration with AHPRA;
• Working with Children check;
• Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent;
• Compliance with ACSQHC National standards;
• A strong commitment to developing in a management role;
• Computer literacy, including MS Office and various databases;
• Ability to work cohesively within a team environment;
• Proven time management and prioritisation skills;
• Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management;
• Demonstrated HR management experience.
