About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Mallee Ward team as Nurse Unit Manager, where you will be responsible for:

  • Providing the pivotal leadership and co-ordination of patient/client care delivery.
  • Lead the Nursing team within the professional practice framework established by the Director of Nursing/Midwifery, and where appropriate, lead a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Maintain productive working relationships and manage conflict resolution.
  • Identifying hazards, assessing risks and implementing, monitoring and maintaining hazard control measures.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registered Nurse with at least 3 years post registration experience.
  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated competence in child and adolescent mental health nursing clinical practice in accordance with the relevant standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and provide complex child and adolescent mental health care in the acute setting.
