About Metro Trains Sydney (MTS)
MTS is now in its fifth year of operating Australia’s first fully automated passenger railway, the Sydney Metro North-West line, and will soon be extending this Metro line through to the City and Southwest. We have an exciting opportunity for a Special Events Coordinatorto join our Special Events team. This position offers a unique chance to play a pivotal role in planning and executing Special Events, ensuring their success and contributing to the overall growth and reputation of our company.
This is a 12 month fixed term appointment.
In this role you will:
- Collaborate with event organisers to understand the needs and requirements for each special event.
- Assist in developing comprehensive event plans, including info structure, signage, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with other transportation providers.
- Liaise with local authorities, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including marketing, operations, and customer service, to align event activities with organisational goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with external vendors to secure resources to support Special Events.
- Coordinate with front-line staff to facilitate event operations and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for passengers.
- Provide on-site supervision and support during events, addressing any issues or concerns and ensuring compliance with event policies and procedures.
- Evaluate event success and effectiveness through post-event analysis and make recommendations for future improvements.
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, community groups, and local authorities to foster positive partnerships.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate with diverse stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, including evenings and weekends as needed.
