About the Barwon Early Parenting Centre
Opening in the first half of 2024, the Barwon Early Parenting Centre will provide specialist support and deliver flexible, targeted services for families with children 0–4 years old.
The centre aims to enhance the parent-child relationship and support parents with strategies for achieving their parenting goals. These goals are often in areas such as sleep and settling, child behaviour, and parent and child health and wellbeing.
These goals are achieved through structured programs that vary from residential, day stay and in-home support. Programs include:
- psychosocial, physical and developmental assessments
- parenting education
- counselling
- skills development
- play-based activities
- modelling effective behaviours.
The Barwon Early Parenting Centre is located within the McKellar Centre precinct on Ballarat Road in North Geelong.

About the role
The Occupational Therapist will bring their top-tier expertise and passion to both the inpatient and outpatient setting at the Early Parenting Centre (EPC). The Occupational Therapist will not just be delivering care, but facilitating sessional educational programs; a journey of transformation for both the consumer and their families. Together as part of a team of multidisciplinary clinicians, you’ll build bridges, break down boundaries, and champion families with children aged 0-4 years old.
The role could also include:
- consultative work
- education in a clinical specialty
- education of other staff within the Early Parenting Centre.
