About the role:
Reporting to the Terminal Manager, the Operations Coordinator is primarily responsible for managing the daily operations of the Terminal and to ensure that the facility operates in a safe, effective and reliable manner.
The role will competently perform across key areas of the yard, tank farm, waste water management, wharf, shore officer, and the use of Scada/DCS. Training will be provided on dayshift, however will require the flexibility to relief operators on shift during their scheduled and unscheduled leaves. Upon successfully being signed off as a competent Operations Coordinator, you will be rostered on a permanent rotating shift (day and night).
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver safe and incident free performance
- Ensure that all terminal operations comply with relevant regulatory, environmental and safety standards
- Support risk management activities including incident reporting, emergency response, observations, management of change, site security checks and safety audits.
- Maintain training competencies in all areas of Terminal operations including permit to work, first aid, emergency response training, confined space, shore officer and MSIC compliance.
- Manage the movement of diesel, gasoline, wastewater systems (separators) within the Terminal.
- Perform required maintenance checks and routine sampling
- Coordinate tank and pipeline movements, manage stock control and processing
- Perform multi product shipping imports operations along with internal terminal transfers via DCS control system
- Manage and operate Terminal Infrastructure via DCS control system
- Identify and support implementation of improvement initiatives
- Support strategic and key infrastructure projects
About you:
You have a can-do attitude and a team player. You are very safety focussed and have demonstrated proven success in a similar role. You are able to commit to shift work both dayshift and nightshift. You thrive working in a team environment and are keen to learn multiple roles across the Terminal. You are self motivated, have good communications skills and a high level of commitment to end results.
Key skills and experience:
- Previous experience in petroleum industry or hazardous facility is desirable (not essential)
- Tertiary/Trade qualifications in engineering or related discipline
- Cert III in Process Plan operations
- High level of problem solving skills
- Strong mechanical trade aptitude skills
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Previous experience in SAP is desirable (not essential)
