The Position
An exciting senior position for a commercially savvy Operations Manager has become available in our Rowville office. Reporting to the CEO, and with two key managers (the Workshop Manager and the Sales & Procurement Manager) reporting into this role, you will broadly oversee workshop and warehouse operations, customer service, customer relationships, repeat product and component sales to existing customers, procurement and suppliers. Your focus will be to balance optimum resourcing for maximum productivity and team morale, increase client satisfaction to support organic growth, expand the supplier base over time to broaden our stock offering and deepen the sustainability of our supply chain, and work closely with us as we actively grow the business. You will be part of a tight team who will work closely with you to help you succeed. A fast track to executive level leadership in the business is available to the right person.
The Suitable Candidate
You have a hunger to help a business grow and to be critical in that story, to become intimate with its inner workings, to work closely with the business leaders to help form and be part of a high performing team, to be bold in your efforts on behalf of the company and not hold back from seizing opportunities, to be recognised for your initiative and outsize thinking, to demonstrate how talented you are, to keep growing as a person. The desire to lead and perform drives you. You want to make your mark.
You will have at least 3 years experience working at a similar level. Perhaps you have felt held back in past roles, or you come from a bigger company that moves too slowly. You have run technical operational or service teams of some sort, and you can speak that language, but you are also commercially thoughtful, you understand people, you’re not limited to operations alone. These past teams could be workshop teams fixing electronics, or field service, or similar service management backgrounds from any of IT, POS and Retail Equipment, Gaming and Wagering, Medical Equipment, Payments and Cash Handling, Ticketing, Defense, or some other area we haven't thought of!

Key Duties:
- Oversee all operations to meet performance and profitability goals
- Ensure optimal workflows and resourcing in the workshop and warehouse
- Ensure profitable margins from suppliers
- Build our training program to deepen skills and cross train
- Recruit new team members as we grow
- Maintain a flexible team and culture that can be scaled as required
- Create a high performance and high recognition culture
- Develop and improve business processes as the business grows
- Deliver exceptional customer focus with high standards of integrity
- Ensure sticky relationships with all customers and suppliers
- Have fun, and make sure the team does as well
- Attend customer meetings and presentations as required
Remuneration
We are offering a strong base salary for the right person, with performance bonuses based on KPIs. The package includes company mobile and laptop.
To be successful in this role you must have:
- 3 years successful experience in a similar role
- Drive to improve productivity, efficiency and profitability
- Demonstrable people leadership and thought leadership capability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
- Commercial acumen and professional presentation
- Strong time and deadline management skills
- Team focus, flexible approach and inclination to seize initiative
